Green’s grocery was my second favorite place to buy candy, after my beloved Moonwink Grocery right across the alley from my house. Dennis Green opened up the neighborhood market about 1946.

Green’s was in some sort of affiliate program with Brandon’s Grocery and Bob Hill’s here in town, as well as with Cox Food Market in Afton, and Wheelen Grocery in Commerce. Their store locations would all appear on the same large newspaper ads.

Robbery was a problem for all Miami grocery stores, Green’s was no exception. At least it was a break-in, not an armed robbery. This is from 1960.
